One Bad Mother
Biz and Theresa wonder if we're overstepping our boundaries when our kids' friends ask us questions about the way the world works or need our help solving a problem. Are we "parenting" other people's kids, or is this just what they mean when they say, "It takes a village!" Plus, Biz is inconsistent in her feminist teachings, Theresa's kids are taking "dress up" to a new level, and we talk with author, activist, UC Berkeley faculty, and mom Aya de Leon, about how to talk with our young kids about racism, inequality, and activism.

Biz and Theresa get down to the nitty-gritty of sibling bedroom-sharing: fighting, space-sharing, sleep schedules, and more! Biz is afraid to try it with her kids and Theresa knows no other way. Plus, Biz is cooking beautiful meals for her children to reject and Theresa has been whined at one too many times. And we get a wonderful and very informative visit from Gwen Glazer, Recommendations Librarian at New York Public Library and one of the hosts of The Librarian Is In podcast.

Biz and Theresa are glad to be back from vacation and are ready to talk Kid Hangovers! Can they be cured by hair of the hotdog? Is there any way to help our kids recover from a night at Nana’s or the Chuck E Cheese birthday party or is this where they have to gain insight from experience? Either way, comparing this process to a hangover makes it less painful. Plus, we talk with Julie Falatko, author of the delightful children’s book Snappsy the Alligator (Did Not Ask To Be In This Book) about getting work done with four kids and the importance of giving yourself permission to do it.
